COMMUNITY PARTNERS
AFCY has developed strategic partnerships with an extensive list of educational organizations and individuals, community and social service organizations, and donors and sponsors. We see these collaborative relationships as vehicles for community involvement and outreach to a wider net of people.
AFCY builds partnerships with like organizations in the effort to partner on high profile projects, establish clear lines of communication, and to share resources, such as support staff and studio space.
We also build relationships within the community through our Community Sharing Program, public art showcases and festivals, and through program performances at schools and community sites. Here, AFCY meets many individuals who become our volunteers and program supporters. During many of these events, the media is present, which exposes what we do to a wider and public audience and attracts resources. AFCY invites funders and volunteers to contribute to these activities in order to offer them hands-on educational arts-based experiences.
The community of arts education organizations in Toronto is small, well connected and collaborative. The Executive & Artistic Director of AFCY has congenial relationships with her counterparts at MITS, Prologue to the Performing Arts, Inner City Angels and SKETCH. AFCY has partnered with Mural Routes, ArtStarts and ArtHeart in program initiatives.
