Sandra Tarantino
Sandra Tarantino received a Bachelor of Fine Arts through Ontario College of Art and Design and participated in the off-campus Florence (Italy) program. She has also received a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology and Bachelor of Education, while continuing to actively participate in the artistic community as Founder and Director of C1 art space art school from 2004 to 2011 and Co-founding Director of AWOL Gallery and Studios Co-operative since 1996. Tarantino’s artwork incorporates elements of both painting and sculpture through shaped canvases, ceramic sculpture and other mixed media works. A resourceful and imaginative teacher, she is highly trained in a wide array of artistic mediums including mural painting, collage, mixed media, mask making, papier mache sculpture and ceramic. She is an experienced provider of teacher resource and curriculum based project development and has worked with various organizations including AFCY, TCDB, and others. She is also a recipient of the Artist in Education Grant from the Ontario Arts Council since 2008.
