ARTIST PROFILE
Jerry Silverberg
Jerry Silverberg is a multi-disciplinary artist who has worked and taught both Visual Art and Theatre. As a teacher he brings a wealth of experience to his workshops. In either discipline, his approach is hands on, inclusive and fun with a strong emphasis on the sense of discovery and play. Whether creating puppets, drawing, writing or interacting with their peers making up stories, children experience art making that is satisfying intellectually, physically and emotionally.
In his professional career as Artistic Director of Cascade Theatre, a touring theatre for young and family audiences he has produced plays that have performed to over 950,000 school age children, teachers and parents throughout Ontario. His visual artwork has been shown in many galleries and cafes throughout the city. His illustrative work has appeared in The Globe and Mail, Walrus Magazine, The Toronto Star and New York Times.
