ARTIST PROFILE

Allison Beula

Allison Beula holds an Honours B.A.A. in film and is a recipient of the “Norman Jewison Filmmaker” Award. She furthered her training at The Randolph Academy For The Performing Arts, for whom she currently Directs, Choreographs, and Instructs. In addition to Randolph, Allison is currently on faculty with The Avenue Road Arts School and Arts For Children and Youth of Toronto. She has led workshops and classes for dozens of institutions including: Mirvish (Lion King), The Toronto and Catholic School Board, and OISE.  She is a Director, Choreographer, and Performer, whose work has been seen on stages all over the city, and is also a private dance and acting coach. She specializes in vintage dance and performs in several entertainment troops. She has trained with Upright Citizens Brigade (NYC), Dance Manhattan, and is a graduate of the Second City Conservatory Program. Her recently choreographed video, Jeff Straker’s “Hypnotized” hit Much More Music’s “Top Ten”. Allison is a member of, and writer for, several vintage film societies across Ontario. She is also a personal trainer and fitness instructor. Allison is a two-time recipient of an Ontario Arts Council grant for “Artists in Education”. Allison’s first musical “The Tiki Bikini Beach Paradise Party A-Go-Go!” which she wrote, directed and choreographed, made its debut at the 2011 Toronto Fringe Festival where it won “Patron’s Pick”, an extension at The Toronto Centre For The Arts, and will be remounted in January of 2012 at The Factory Theatre as part of the “Next Stage Festival”.
